Children and adults can sign up for the 2011 Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey School that runs Aug. 15-20 at the ShoWare Center in Kent.
Seattle coaches and players will work as instructors at the camp.
The Hockey School will feature six age groups:
Group A for ages 6, 7 and 8; Group B for ages 9-10; Group C for ages 11-12; Group D for ages 13-14, an Adult group for players ages 18 and older, and a Junior Prep Group geared towards players ages 15-19 preparing for their upcoming junior season.
The Junior Prep camp will be difficult and challenging and will focus on conditioning and pace. Players interested in this group are required to call the T-Birds to register.
The Youth and Junior Prep groups will receive 90 minutes of on ice instruction Monday through Friday. On the Saturday of the camp there will be a scrimmage for each group. The Junior Prep Group also will receive off-ice instruction in training and nutrition.
The Adult group will feature a two hour on-ice session preceded by an off-ice video instruction session. The Adult group also will have a scrimmage on the last day of the school.
Youth group registrants will receive a hockey school jersey while Adult and Junior Prep registrants will receive a hockey school T-shirt.
The T-Birds will announce in mid-July which players and staff will be at the camp as guest instructors.
Prices for the Youth camps are $240, the Junior Prep camp $350 and the Adult camp $300.
