The Kentlake and Kentwood girls soccer teams came together last week for the second-annual Kicks for the Cure soccer showdown between the two friendly rivals. The game is in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event benefits the MultiCare Mammogram Assistance Fund of Covington.
For the second year in a row, the two schools combined to raise more than $4,000.
Kentwood and Kentlake tied the game, 1-1. Kentlake’s Kayla Maletich scored in the 33rd minute on an assist from Katherine Miccile. Kentwood tied the score at 1-1 in the 78th minute on an assist from Madison Fuller.
