Stars’ West receives second MASL Team of the Week nod

Tacoma Stars defender Adam West was named to the Major Arena Soccer League Team of the Week for week 13, the league announced today.

Tacoma Stars defender Adam West was named to the Major Arena Soccer League Team of the Week for week 13, the league announced today.

This is West’s second Team of the Week selection this season, with the first coming in week seven.

West posted his second brace of the season in a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Sidekicks on Thursday, Jan. 14. His second goal of the match came with under one minute remaining in regulation, lifting the Stars to their eighth victory of the year. West’s 12 points this season (seven goals, five assists) are tied for the second most on the Stars.

Joining West on the MASL Team of the Week are Ontario goalkeeper Sanaldo Carvalho, Ontario defender Stephen Basso, Brownsville midfielder Victor Parreiras, Cedar Rapids midfielder Gordy Gurson, and Sonora forward Franck Tayou.

Stars goalkeeper Danny Waltman earned honorable mention after tallying 28 saves on 30 shots against Dallas – his 5.02 goals against average mark this season is tied for fifth best in the MASL.
