Greg Scott had two goals and an assist Friday night to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 3-1 victory over the Everett Silvertips at Comcast Arena.

The T-Birds improved to 22-26-1-3 and are now one point behind the Silvertips for sixth place in the Western Conference playoff standings. Seattle has played one more game this season than Everett. The T-Birds are also five points behind the Kamloops Blazers for fifth place in the standings with one game in hand.

The T-Birds took a 1-0 lead at 8:55 of the first period. Jonathan Parker passed the puck off the left boards in the neutral zone to Scott streaking up the left boards. Scott carried the puck towards the Everett net on his backhand and then put a shot on goal. Everett goalie Kent Simpson made the save but the puck rebounded back to Scott and he slammed the rebound past the goalie for his 18th goal of the year. Brad Haber had the second assist on the goal.

Seattle went ahead 2-0 at 15:46 of the first on Parker’s 10th goal of the year. Thomas Hickey sent the puck low behind the Everett net. Scott got to the puck and used his backhand to center the puck to Parker in the slot. Parker one-timed Scott’s pass and beat Simpson high for the goal.

Seattle outshot Everett 9-6 in the first period.

Everett (21-23-6-1) got on the board at 7:27 of the second period when Shane Harper scored. Dan Iwanski and Zach Dailey had the assists.

Scott put the T-Birds in front 3-1 at 15:03 of the second on a shorthanded goal. Prab Rai carried the puck up the ice on the left side on a two-on-two with Scott. Rai cut towards the slot at the top of the left circle with Scott charging towards the right post. The Everett expected a shot but instead Rai made a quick pass to Scott who redirected the puck past a sprawling Simpson for his second goal of the night.

The T-Birds led 23-14 in total shots after outshooting the Silvertips 14-8 in the second period.

Seattle outshot Everett 30-28 in the game.

Seattle goalie Jacob DeSerres made 27 saves on 28 shots and improved his record to 11-16-0-0.

Simpson stopped 27 of 30 shots and his record is now 8-6-3-1.

The T-Birds face the Kelowna Rockets at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday at ShoWare Center.
