Lindsay Nielsen had two goals and goalie Jacob DeSerres made 25 saves Tuesday night to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 2-0 victory over the Chilliwack Bruins in the T-Birds last game at KeyArena.

The T-Birds will take on the Everett Silvertips at 7:05 on Saturday, January 3, in their new home, the ShoWare Center. They take on the Kamloops Blazers at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, at ShoWare Center.

Before the first game at ShoWare Center can be played, the T-Birds travel to Portland to take on the Winter Hawks at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The game can also be seen on FSN Comcast Cable Channel 30.

Chilliwack (11-24-3-3) outshot Seattle 10-5 in a scoreless first period.

Seattle took a 1-0 lead at the 16:47 mark of the second period. Chris Cloud banged the puck up ice from the Seattle zone off the left boards. Jeremy Boyer got to the puck in the neutral zone. Boyer then passed the puck off the left boards to Lindsay Nielsen cutting across the blue line. Nielsen controlled the puck in the left corner, then cut through the slot and beat Chilliwack goalie Mark Friesen with a backhand shot over the glove.

Seattle (15-19-1-2) outshot Chilliwack 12-9 in the second period but the Bruins led in total shots 19-17 after two periods.

Nielsen added a second goal on the night at 7:32 of the third period. He got to a loose puck just inside the Bruins blue line and came in alone on Friesen. Nielsen lifted his right leg faking a wrist shot forcing the goalie down, then skated to the left and beat Friesen from the bottom of the left face off circle.

The T-Birds outshot the Bruins 11-6 in the third period and 28-25 in the game.

Friesen stopped 26 of 28 shots and his record falls to 7-15-1-2.

T-Birds season tickets are currently on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825. Purchasing a season ticket will ensure fans can attend the T-Birds first game in their new home, the ShoWare Center.
