Tahoma beat Puyallup today 6-4 at Curtis High School for the South Puget Sound League title and grabbed the No. 1 seed in the West Central District III/ Southwest Division 4A baseball tournament.
The district game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Russell Road Park in Kent.
The winning pitcher for Kentwood was Chris Kerwood.
Reed Johnson hit a home run for the Bears going 3-1 at the plate with 3 RBIs
Tahoma took the early lead with one run in the third.
Puyallup came back in the fourth with four runs to jump on top.
The Bears figured out the winning formula in the seventh scoring five runs including Johnson’s over-the-fence shot scoring three runs to snatch the victory and the SPSL crown.
The victory gave the Bears an overall record of 18-1 heading into the district game.
