PGA pros David Phay of Whidbey Golf and Country Club (Oak Harbor), Tyler Sweet of Sunland G&CC (Sequim) and Derek Berg of Sahalee CC (Sammamish) shot 3-under 69s Monday to lead after the first round of the Muckleshoot Casino Washington Open Invitational.
The second round of the 54-hole, no-cut individual tournament is Tuesday at Meridian Valley Country Club. Tee times range from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The invitational’s official charity is Folds of Honor. The event raised $61,000 for the charity this year. Folds of Honor is a 501 (C)(3) charitable foundation, supporting scholarships and assistance to the spouses and children of those killed or disabled in military service to America.
