Seattle Thunderbirds General Manager Russ Farwell announced today the signing of U.S.-born defenseman Kevin Wolf to a WHL Contract and Education Agreement.

Wolf, a 10th round selection in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft, lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, but played last season for the Chicago Fury Major Bantams.

Wolf currently plays for the Chicago Fury U-16 Midget AAA team in the US Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. The 6’6, 195-pound defenseman, has one goal, nine assists, and four minutes in penalties through 18 league games this season.

“I am very excited about joining the Seattle Thunderbirds organization,” said Wolf. “Training camp was very exciting and informative, giving me a chance to meet the coaches, staff, and players and learn more about the Thunderbirds program.”

“I have been fortunate enough to play in a quality program with the Chicago Fury and look forward to continuing to work hard so I can take the next step in my hockey development with Seattle.”

“We are extremely excited that Kevin and his family have chosen our program to continue his hockey development and education,” said Farwell. “Having Kevin sign adds a significant prospect into our organization for the future.”

The T-Birds finish off a six-game road trip with two games over the weekend. They play the Calgary Hitmen on Friday at 6pm at the Scotiabank Saddledome. They then travel to Cranbrook, British Columbia, to take on the Kootenay Ice on Saturday at 6pm at the Cranbrook Rec Plex.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2011-12 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.

T-Birds season tickets are currently on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825.
