Men’s college basketball is coming to Kent in November.
Tickets are on sale for the Seattle University Redhawks against the Evergreen State College Geoducks game at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 at the ShoWare Center.
Tickets are $11 for general admission, $17 for reserved club seats and $25 for a selected few end zone courtside seats.
ShoWare Center has hosted several high school basketball games over the last three years, but never a NCAA Division I men’s or women’s basketball contest. That will change when the Seattle takes on Evergreen State from Olympia in a nonconference game.
Seattle finished 11-20 last season and will join the Western Athletic Conference next season under third-year head coach Cameron Dollar. Evergreen State, an NAIA school which plays in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, was 8-20 last season.
Seattle opens its season Saturday, Nov. 12 with a home exhibition game at KeyArena against Pacific Lutheran. The Redhawks have already earned some preseason buzz as Jarell Flora (Bremerton) has been named as a preseason Independent Freshman of the Year by CollegeSportsMadness.com. Senior Aaron Broussard (Federal Way) and sophomore Sterling Carter (Seattle) have both been named preseason independent first teamers.
ESPN 710 Seattle will carry the Kent game on radio in the Seattle area with Dave Grosby and Gary Hill, Jr., calling the action.
For tickets, go to www.showarecenter.com or visit the arena box office at 625 W. James St.
