At 13:42 of the third, The T-Birds got on the board on a goal by Connor Honey. Branden Troock sent the puck to Honey at the top of the right circle. The puck deflected off of a Tri-City defender and past Americans goalie Eric Comrie and into the net.

Honey scored a second goal at 15:24 of the third to cut Tri-City lead to 4-2. Shea Theodore brought the puck over the blue line on the right side and stopped. He then centered it to Troock.
