The Seattle Thunderbirds have named T-Bird veteran Lindsay Nielsen captain of the 2009-10 team.
Nielsen is entering his fifth year with the T-Birds. Last season Nielsen appeared in 38 games and had 22 points on 11 goals and 11 assists. In his WHL career Nielsen has appeared in 218 games and has 35 goals and 52 assists with a plus/minus rating of plus- 15.
Defenseman Thomas Hickey was the T-Birds team captain in the previous two seasons. Hickey will be playing with the Los Angeles Kings or Manchester Monarchs this season.
