Wilderness Weekend Women’s Golf Club, one of the few women’s leagues in the area with regular weekly play on weekends, starts its season this month at Lake Wilderness Golf Course in Maple Valley.
To celebrate its second decade as a club, WWWGC is offering a special new member rate of $45 for the year, including GHIN registration (to establish a handicap). Regular annual membership is $75.
“We have a great year planned,” says Kathy Thompson, WWWGC president. “The women in this club have a lot of fun together while helping each other learn and grow in the game of golf. We encourage more women to join us.”
Founded in 2003, the purpose of the WWWGC is to promote, encourage and develop women golfers of all abilities through weekly competitions, tournaments and other golf events throughout the year.
Most competitions are held at Lake Wilderness Golf Course in Maple Valley, the club’s home course. Members have the opportunity to play other courses through Washington State Women’s Public Links Association and other special club events.
